Since the 1950s, the Civic News has been the voice of the Park Slope neighborhood and of its advocate, The Park Slope Civic Council.
Published monthly September through June, the Civic News offers features, analyses, history, news and photos. Civic News is sent to PSCC members and community leaders.

The goal of the Park Slope Civic Council’s Shop Local campaign is to encourage support of healthy, locally-owned businesses in order to preserve the character of the neighborhood we all love.
Janette Sadik-Khan took over as DOT Commissioner in May, and with her came a sea change in transportation policy. The agency no longer views itself primarily as an advocate for helping cars navigate city streets.
When Ken Freeman was asked in September, 2007 what he hopes to accomplish in his presidential year (he can stand for re-election, if he so chooses, in June, 2007), he offered this list of “modest goals” beyond PSCC’s many ongoing projects:
